Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly residents, identifying their unique emotional and psychological care needs to craft targeted treatment plans.

  • Deliver individual and group counseling sessions that address emotional challenges stemming from aging, including grief, loneliness, and existential concerns.

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and circumstances.

  • Train and educate healthcare staff and family members on techniques to enhance emotional well-being for seniors, emphasizing the importance of empathy and support in care delivery.

  • Facilitate grief counseling sessions for residents and their families as they face end-of-life issues, providing a safe space for discussions around loss and transition.

  • Implement cognitive stimulation programs and effective mental health interventions aimed at maintaining and enhancing mental acuity among elderly individuals.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role will primarily focus on elderly clients who are navigating various mental health challenges related to aging, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. Our geriatric population often experiences significant life transitions, and it is our responsibility to provide them with tools and support that nurture their mental well-being during these times.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

  • Current and valid Massachusetts Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.

  • A minimum of 4 years of recent clinical experience in geriatric counseling or mental health support, demonstrating a strong understanding of the aging process and related psychological issues.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 65,000 to USD 95,000, commensurate with experience. Additionally, a sign-on bonus will be included to attract qualified candidates who align with our mission.
