Job Summary
Our infant teachers are responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants. Supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities, routines, and individualized care. Builds positive relationships with children and families, maintains a clean and safe classroom, and closely observes and documents each child’s growth and developmental progress. Works collaboratively with families and teaching staff to ensure consistent, high-quality care and learning experiences are provided. Our teachers are responsible for posting photos and videos of each child throughout the day on our Parent Engagement App.
Responsibilities
- Provide relevant experiences for children each day that encourage development in all domains, while also providing structure and routine
- Teach foundational skills with a large focus on social and emotional development
- Our teachers have the ability to use teaching methods, styles, and strategies that are unique for them while incorporating a play-based curriculum model
- Ongoing documentation including progress reports, behavioral tracking, injury/incident reports, monthly goals, and observations
- Work collaboratively with your classroom teacher and other teachers within our program
- Communicate professionally with parents/caregivers, administration, early intervention specialists, and community partners
- Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones
- Create a calm and emotionally supportive environment, while continuing to address your own self-regulation and what you are contributing to the climate of the classroom.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age and older
- Must pass a Background Record Check at hire and every 3 years following
- Experience in child care is ideal, but not required (we are willing to train the right person)
- Preference in hiring is given to those who already have or would like to pursue teacher certification
- Strong understanding of child development, classroom/time management, and ability to set priorities to meet the children's needs
- Excellent verbal, and written communication skills (our program uses ProCare Parent Engagement App)
- Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
