Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position with a NH or compact license and strong telemetry skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is part of the Float Pool, primarily staffing a 6-bed observation unit within a hospital
  • Floats to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed
  • Patient ratio is 1:5 with adult and geriatric patient population including cardiac, respiratory, post-STEMI cath, and stroke cases
  • Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every other weekend required
  • Uses Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
  • Telemetry responsibilities include interpreting rhythms, blocks, paced rhythms, arrhythmias, and life-threatening dysrhythmias
  • Must pass a telemetry exam using calipers upon arrival
  • Collaboration supported by rapid response teams, pharmacy, interpretation services, and allied health professionals
  • Unit handles post-dialysis care; CAPD performed by specialized RNs
  • Responsible for providing care to observation, Med-Surg, and telemetry patients and interpreting telemetry strips
  • First time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Must be comfortable floating between Med-Surg and Telemetry units based on patient census and staffing needs
  • Unit uses the SBAR communication method
  • All travelers within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at the local rate
  • Only AHA and Red Cross certifications are accepted
  • Drug screen required within 14 days prior to start date
  • Standard hospital nursing dress code applies

\n \n Requirements\n

  • Active NH or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg Telemetry experience required
  • BCLS (AHA or Red Cross) and ACLS certifications required
  • Must have Epic charting experience
  • Ability to interpret complex cardiac rhythms and use telemetry equipment
  • Telemetry skills test required on arrival
  • References required for consideration; traveler may be able to start with the second reference pending
  • Candidates with critical care or progressive care experience preferred
  • Charge experience preferred
  • Applicants who have been former employees at any Solution Health facility are not eligible
