About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Associate or Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team in Swanzey, NH. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can grow socially, emotionally, and academically. You will design engaging lesson plans, manage classroom dynamics, and build strong partnerships with families to support each child's unique development.
What You'll Do
- Assist/Lead the planning and implementation of age-appropriate curricula that foster cognitive and social development.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment adhering to state licensing regulations.
- Assess and document child progress, sharing developmental milestones and updates regularly with parents.
- Guide assistants in daily classroom routines and positive behavior management.
- Assist the Lead Teacher in executing age-appropriate lesson plans and educational curriculum.
- Work with students in small groups or one-on-one sessions to reinforce learning concepts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards.
- Observe and monitor children's daily performance, behavior, and progress, sharing updates with the lead educator.
- Supervise students during transition periods, meal times, recess, and outdoor nature walks.
- Foster a positive classroom culture by modeling social responsibility and respectful communication.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Basic knowledge of child development phases and early childhood education practices.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively as part of an instructional team.
- Physical capacity to sit on the floor, lift child-sized equipment, and remain active throughout the day.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting process.
- Meets at least NH Child Care Licensing requirements for Associate Teacher in Center Based Care.
Nice To Haves
- Active CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Previous experience working with children in a structured setting like a school, daycare, or camp.
- Coursework or an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Nature Based/ Environmental Education Coursework
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.
- Current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
