The full-time schedule runs Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the possibility of occasional evenings or weekends as required by client needs and practice demands.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine clients' mental health status and treatment needs, developing comprehensive treatment plans that encompass pre-crisis and crisis interventions.

  • Document all client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans promptly, adhering to regulatory standards to ensure compliance and continuity of care.

  • Utilize evidence-based screening tools and methodologies to provide accurate evaluations and guide therapeutic interventions.

  • Collaborate actively with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement Positive Behavior Support Plans that cater specifically to each client’s needs.

  • Engage in ongoing licensing and accreditation processes to maintain best practices within the clinic.
  • \n

  • Act as a liaison with state agencies, service systems, and community partners to enhance resource availability and client support.
  • \n

  • Foster and maintain effective communication channels with clients, families, and community stakeholders, aligning efforts with the mission of Myers Counseling Center.

  • Participate in community outreach, develop new partnerships, and identify funding sources to expand program capabilities and reach.
  • \n

  • Commit to ongoing professional development through attendance at workshops, conferences, and participation in relevant task forces.

  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Clinic Director to support the overall mission of the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on serving the geriatric population, addressing complex mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and the psychological impact of life transitions. Counselors will work with clients experiencing grief associated with loss, navigating changes in living situations, and coping with age-related health challenges. Engagement with families and caregivers will also be emphasized to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.

  • A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
