This position is ideal for an LPN passionate about individualized student care during transportation, ensuring accessibility and safety for those with medical or mobility needs. The assignment covers both the Extended School Year (ESY) and the following school year (NSY), offering consistent part-time hours.
Key qualifications and desired experience:
- Current, active LPN license valid in New Hampshire
- Experience supporting children or adolescents, especially individuals with cognitive, mobility, or communication challenges
- Familiarity with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices or willingness to learn
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative school environment and maintain composure in dynamic settings
- Compassionate, reliable, and dedicated to student well-being and dignity
- Must complete district onboarding requirements, including fingerprinting, prior to the start date
Role responsibilities:
- Safely accompany a student to and from school by riding the bus as the dedicated nurse
- Assist with transitions as needed, helping with mobility and use of communication devices
- Monitor the student’s well-being and respond to health needs during transport
- Serve as a liaison to transportation staff regarding student’s medical or adaptive needs
- Flexible coverage of morning (around 7:25 a.m.) and afternoon pickups (1:00 p.m.), Monday through Thursday during ESY, with comparable scheduling for the school year
