About This Role
Franconia Children’s Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to join our team. This position is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young children can learn, grow, and build positive relationships.
The Early Childhood Educator will work collaboratively with other teachers to plan and carry out developmentally appropriate activities that support children’s social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, nurturing care and maintain active supervision of children at all times.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and age-appropriate learning environment.
- Plan and participate in hands-on activities, outdoor play, group experiences, and daily routines.
- Support children in developing communication, independence, self-help, and social-emotional skills.
- Use positive guidance techniques and model respectful interactions.
- Follow classroom schedules while responding to each child’s individual needs.
- Assist with meals, diapering, toileting, rest time, and other caregiving routines as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom.
- Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and center leadership.
- Document children’s activities, development, and daily care as required.
- Follow all FCC policies and New Hampshire Child Care Licensing requirements.
- Complete required professional development, health and safety training, background checks, and fingerprinting.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with young children in a licensed child care or educational setting.
- Coursework, credentials, or a degree in early childhood education is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain patient, calm, and attentive in a busy classroom.
- Willingness to learn and complete required training.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting children, sitting on the floor, bending, standing, and participating in indoor and outdoor activities.

We offer a consistent weekday schedule with no evenings or weekends, 24 hours of sick time upon hire, and 40 hours of vacation time after one year of employment.
