Carpenter Helper

Job Description

We are seeking entry level and skilled carpenter to join our team. This job will revolve around framing carpentry and prefabricated wall panel installation. You will need your own hand tools and OSHA 10. This job will pay $18 - $23 depending on skill level. Our job sites are in Worcester, MA and Newton, MA and a reliable car is required to get to multiple job sites a week.

Responsibilities

  • Perform wood framing for commercial projects, including cutting and nailing wood.
  • Construct stairs and rafters, and work with pre-fabricated wall panels and trusses.
  • Handle multi-family framing and commercial wood framing tasks.
  • Ensure reliability and strong work ethic in all aspects of the job.

Essential Skills

  • Proven wood framing experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently when necessary.
  • Willingness to learn and take on challenges.
  • General construction knowledge and experience.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Commercial construction experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, including on bilingual teams depending on site locations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic hand tools are required: work boots, tool belt, chalk line, 25 FT tape measure, speed square, cat paw, and framing hammer.
  • Experience in roofing and finish carpentry is beneficial.

Work Environment

The work environment involves large-scale commercial construction sites where safety equipment and basic hand tools are necessary. Workers may be required to work in varying weather conditions and must adhere to safety protocols. The dress code includes appropriate work boots and safety gear.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainville, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
