Registered Nurse, Labor & Delivery (L&D) in a birthing center setting located in Middlebury, Vermont. Start date: 10/26/2026. Contract duration: 16 weeks with potential extension up to 26 weeks. Weekly pay: 2,671 to 2,779 USD per week. Guaranteed hours: not guaranteed. Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3x per week). This travel - temporary assignment involves floating to Med/Surg and ED units as needed, with experience in Labor, Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care. Epic EHR experience within the past 2 years is required.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to labor and delivery patients, including monitoring maternal and fetal status, administering medications, and assisting with labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
- Perform routine nursing procedures, IV access, and manage pain relief while ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Document care and clinical information accurately in Epic EHR; ensure timely and compliant charting
- Collaborate with obstetric team, midwives, neonatal staff, and support services to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
- Respond to obstetric emergencies, implement postpartum and newborn care protocols, and educate patients and families
- Maintain performance standards for safety, infection control, and quality metrics; comply with AHA BLS and NRP requirements
Requirements
- Certifications: American Heart Association BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Postpartum) experience
- EMR: Epic experience within the past 2 years is required
- Travel experience: Prior travel experience preferred
- Floating: Ability to float to Med/Surg and ED units as assigned
- Scheduling: Willingness to work every other weekend and 2 of the 4 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day) or as unit needs
- Setting: Ability to work in a birthing center environment and support patient care across related units
