Role Overview
The firm is seeking a high-caliber Litigation Associate with 3–5 years of civil litigation experience to join its expanding Boston office. This role is designed for an ambitious attorney ready to transition into a lead support role, managing a diverse caseload in products liability, commercial litigation, construction disputes, and trucking/transportation defense. You will be expected to drive cases forward independently while collaborating with a team of top-tier litigators.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Take ownership of a varied caseload, managing all procedural requirements from initial responsive pleadings through trial preparation.
- Advocacy & Motion Practice: Draft and argue substantive motions, including summary judgment and discovery-related briefs, in Massachusetts state and federal courts.
- Discovery Leadership: Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and coordinate with technical experts for complex litigation matters.
- Trial Participation: Assist lead counsel in trial preparation, including witness prep, exhibit management, and courtroom advocacy.
- Client Engagement: Provide clear, strategic updates to clients and insurance carriers, ensuring a high level of professional service.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years of prior civil litigation experience (Defense-side experience is highly preferred).
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Licensure: Active member in good standing of the Massachusetts State Bar.
- Skills: Strong foundation in court rules, legal research (Westlaw/Lexis), and a proven ability to draft high-quality legal memoranda.
