This position invites you to support a small group of 10 students who participate in the general education setting, utilizing both push-in and pull-out instructional models. Your expertise will play a central role in helping young learners reach their fullest potential in a collaborative, student-centered environment.
Ideal candidates will bring a passion for individualized instruction and experience implementing specialized strategies to address diverse learning needs. Orton-Gillingham training is highly preferred, as you’ll be tasked with delivering effective literacy interventions to enhance student growth and skill development.
Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Classroom experience with elementary-aged (K-4) students
- Familiarity with push-in and pull-out special education service models
- Background in literacy intervention, with preference for Orton-Gillingham training or experience with structured literacy programs
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with general education staff, support personnel, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and supportive classroom climate
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction for students in both general education and resource settings
- Develop and implement IEP goals tailored to each student’s learning profile
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum, materials, and classroom strategies
- Conduct formative assessments and utilize data to inform instructional decisions
- Maintain accurate records and document student progress toward IEP objectives
- Communicate regularly with families and the student support team
