Step into a contract opportunity supporting a high school student’s growth and independence. An occupational therapist is needed for a part-time, in-person role just outside Saint Johnsbury, VT. With a commitment of 2-3 hours per week, you will work closely with a dedicated educational team to provide vital OT services that truly make a difference.
Your expertise will empower a high schooler who uses a wheelchair to trial adaptive equipment, receive direct support, and gain essential training designed to foster autonomy in daily routines. Qualifications & Experience:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience providing OT services in educational settings, preferably with high school students
- Strong understanding of adaptive and assistive technology
- Comfortable collaborating with school teams and families
- Compassionate, patient, and creative approach to problem-solving
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver hands-on occupational therapy services on-site, 2–3 hours weekly
- Assess needs and facilitate trials with adaptive equipment
- Provide training to student, staff, and family on equipment use and daily living skills
- Maintain thoughtful documentation in accordance with school guidelines
- Consult with educational staff to optimize the student’s participation and independence at school
