An opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support high school students in a specialized educational program designed for learners with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other unique learning needs. This role is based in Ludlow, MA, within the Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaboratives Compass High Program at the local high school.
This contract position spans the 20262027 school year, approximately from August 27, 2026, to June 22, 2027, offering around 32.5 hours per week of focused clinical practice. The assignment involves managing a caseload of high school students while supervising a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) within this personalized, supportive environment that emphasizes skill-building for independence beyond traditional classroom settings.
Key qualifications and requirements include:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist certification and licensure in accordance with state regulations
- Experience working with high school-aged students, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorders or similar learning differences
- Ability to supervise and collaborate effectively with SLPAs and other educational staff
- Familiarity with specialized programming and individual education plan (IEP) processes
- Strong communication and organizational skills to tailor therapy to diverse needs
Primary responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted speech and language therapy services aligned with student-specific goals
- Oversee the SLPAs activities ensuring quality and compliance with clinical standards
- Coordinate with educational staff and families to support holistic student development
- Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports as required
