General Description
The Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Program Assistant Manager reports to and receives supervision from the ABI Program Manager. The ABI Assistant Manager assist the ABI Program Manager in the overall management, supervision and coordination of staffing, medical appointments, clinical needs and other supports needed in order to ensure essential services are provided to individuals in the residence.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years equivalent work experience directly related to working with individual who have development/intellectual disabilities, and/or ABI and their families.
Knowledge of community systems serving adults with ABI/TBI
Excellent interpersonal and communication (written/verbal) skills.
Experience in supervision preferred.
Current drivers’ license, safe driving record, ability to pass extensive background checks.
MAP, CPR and First Aid certifications
Job Responsibilites
- Assists in assigned tasks including managing team performance; developing and implementing daily activities; facilitating communication among staff, individuals supported and their families/guardians; ensuring supported individuals participate in activities of their choice.
- Assist ABI Program Manager in managing a team of direct support staff including conducting training, scheduling, disciplining as needed and completion of performance reviews.
- Assist in ensuring documentation and forms are complete, accurate and timely.
- Responsible to work directly with Manager in supervision of individual spending and assisting with weekly and monthly budgeting.
- Responsible for the daily review of Staff Daily Communication Log, Daily Progress Notes, and Data Sheets. All issues of any concern to be immediately reported to immediate supervisor. Responsible for completion of Individual’s Monthly Progress Notes.
- Responsible to communicate with individuals’ family members regarding family visits, and to provide schedule information to immediate supervisor. This will occur in advance of holidays and on a weekly basis regarding regularly scheduled weekly visits.
- Participates in ISP meetings, team meetings and reviews team performance.
- Attend meetings with ABI Program Manager and/or as directed by supervisor.
- Responsible to rotate in On Call Schedule
- Serve as back up support staff when staff is unable to work a scheduled shift or if shift is unfilled.
- Represent the agency’s mission and vision in a positive and supportive manner within the community and with individuals/families supported.
- Attend appropriate workshops, seminars and training.
- Maintain a positive relationship with the individuals, families/guardians, other businesses and social service agencies.
