Job Description

Pediatric Physician Opportunity

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont Health is seeking a physician to join the pediatric clinic in central Vermont. The clinic is a certified medical home, providing a full spectrum of primary care services to a diverse population in the Central Vermont area, as well as community hospital care for newborns at Central Vermont Medical Center.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations for children of varying ages.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric medical conditions, ensuring optimal care for each patient.
  • Manage an average of 16-18 patients per day, adapting to case complexity and medical needs.
  • Teach residents and medical students
  • Collaborate effectively with parents or guardians to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive measures in a clear and empathetic manner.
  • Allocate time efficiently for 4 patient-facing 8-hour days and 1 administrative day with no clinical duties
  • Provide light delivery coverage call for the hospital.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards and patient confidentiality.


Qualifications:

  • ABP Board eligibility/certification.
  • NRP certification required; delivery experience preferred.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license in Vermont (or ability to obtain).
  • Proven expertise in diagnosing and managing pediatric medical conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with young patients and their families.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare.
  • Familiarity with EPIC preferred
  • Willingness to participate in delivery coverage call and pediatric call for the hospital.

Compensation Ranges: $180,000 - $210,000 (Additional call pay for delivery coverage)
