Job Description
Seeking a skilled special education teacher for a contract position for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time role runs from August through June and offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of high school students. Work closely with a supportive staff and help shape inclusive learning experiences in a dynamic educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to high school students with identified educational needs
- Develop, implement, and adapt IEPs in collaboration with students, families, and team members
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to help students achieve outlined goals
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support personnel to foster an inclusive classroom setting
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Previous experience supporting high school students in a special education setting preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt curriculum, modify instructional methods, and provide behavioral support as needed
- Comfortable working in a team-oriented atmosphere
Additional Details:
- Contract runs from August 2026 to June 2027, Monday through Friday, 35-37.5 hours per week
- High school caseload in a welcoming educational community
- Located in the area near Newport, NH
