Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Located in Cambridge, MA, this full-time contract opportunity is for an Intensive Needs Special Education Teacher within an early childhood school setting. The teaching assignment runs from February 25, 2026, through June 12, 2026, for 40 hours per week. This role specifically supports PreK and Kindergarten students with severe disabilities, many of whom are non-verbal and utilize AAC devices for communication while experiencing significant global impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with intensive and severe disabilities.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with students communication and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff, to maximize each students progress.
- Utilize AAC devices effectively to facilitate student communication and learning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and adapt instructional approaches as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold a Massachusetts Severe Disabilities Teaching License.
- Experience working with young children with severe disabilities, particularly in early childhood special education.
- Strong knowledge of AAC technologies and strategies to support non-verbal learners.
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered instruction focused on individual student needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
