Job Duties
- Provide and supervise all non-surgical nursing services
- Supervise nursing staff
- Coordinate, complete and make sure participant assessments are accurate and up-to-date
- Make sure nursing notes are at least once a month or as necessary as needed to reflect each participant’s health care status
- Responding appropriately to any acute changes in a particpant’s health or functioning
- Providing appropriate health care education for each participant and caregiver/family member
- Assisting in delivering other services as needed
- Make certain that there is ongoing education, training, and professional development of all Program staff that is relevant to care of participants
- Obtain, implement, and review primary care orders
- Coordinating the development, review, and updating and the revision of the each participant’s plan of care
- Coordinating the participant’s care with the primary care provider and if applicable, the participant’s community providers and family/caregivers
- Supervising and documenting medication management services
- Developing medication policies and procedures in accordance with 105 CMR 158.039
Educational Requirements
Registered Nurses shall have at least two years of recent experience in the direct care of adults or chronically disabled people. Registered nurses must also have a current nursing license as well as a current CPR and First Aid license. Must pass CORI check.
