Job Description

$90,000/year | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

A well-established precision manufacturing company on the South Shore is seeking a hands-on Group Leader with a strong Tool & Die background to oversee and support a small, high-performing team. This role is ideal for a seasoned machinist who can balance leadership responsibilities with technical expertise across manual machining, Wire EDM, CNC milling, and tooling operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate daily activities for a small team of skilled machinists and technicians
Set up and operate manual machines, Wire EDM, and CNC milling equipment as needed
Program CNC machines and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance
Design, develop, and maintain flood tools, jigs, and fixtures to support efficient production
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet tight tolerances and customer specs
Monitor workflow, quality standards, and deadlines, ensuring smooth shop floor operations
Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment

Qualifications

Extensive Tool & Die experience in a precision machining or mold-making environment
Proficiency in manual machining, Wire EDM, and CNC milling (setup, programming, operation)
Ability to design and fabricate custom tooling and fixtures
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced shop environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
