Job DescriptionIntake Specialist

Our client, a nonprofit organization, is looking to add a 4-month temporary Intake Specialist to their team in Boston, MA. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to programs that help young people stay in school, prepare for careers, and build a foundation for future success. Compensation: $23 per hour*
*salary listed not guaranteed – potential offers vary based on experience level, qualifications, and internal equity and may be outside of this range.

Applicants must be able to work onsite 5 days per week in Boston to be eligible for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for front desk, delivering excellent customer service and answering general intake questions.
  • Manage the main phone line and shared email inbox, routing calls/emails appropriately and responding to routine inquiries.
  • Collect, enter, maintain, and report accurate intake data/records for new participants; track inquiries and applicants.
  • Support the intake/enrollment process by gathering required documentation, following up on missing items, and maintaining eligibility files (including prep for funder submissions as needed).
  • Provide general administrative/office support (mail, supplies, upkeep of lobby/common areas) and assist with other related duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in education or a related field preferred.
  • Up to 12 months of relevant experience in an administrative or support role.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic databases and spreadsheets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Bilingual abilities in Spanish highly preferred.
  • Reliable, friendly, and open communicator with excellent customer service skills.
