Registered Nurse – ICU (Medical ICU / MICU)
📍 Location: 111 Colchester Ave, Burlington, VT 05401-1473
🏥 Facility: University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC)
🕒 Shift: Nights | 3×12-Hour (19:00–07:00)
📅 Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Unit Details:
M4 – Medical ICU (MICU)
- Primary: Medical ICU
- Secondary: Overflow Neuro
- Float Requirements: Must float to SICU, Miller 3, and Miller 4 as needed
Requirements:

Certifications:
- AHA BLS (required)
- AHA ACLS (required)
- NIHSS (required prior to start)
- CCRN preferred

Experience:
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience
- Prior travel experience required
- Must have experience in large, teaching facilities
- Clinical Skills Required:
- Starting IVs
- Managing & titrating multiple drips
- Critical ventilator care
- Multi-system disease management
- CRRT
- IABP
- ECMO
- Ventilator management

COVID care
- Technology:
- EPIC experience within the past 2 years – mandatory (non-negotiable)
Scheduling & Holiday Requirements:
- Must work 2 out of 4 major holidays:
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
- New Year’s Day
- Every other weekend required
- No block scheduling allowed (no exceptions)

Traveler radius: Must live >50 miles from facility (straight-line distance)
Additional Important Information:
- Public transportation is NOT accessible in this area
- Personal or rental vehicle required
- Winter driving precautions:
- Travelers should have vehicles with all-season or snow tires (November–April)
