Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Holding RN with an active MA license and 2+ years of pre/post procedural or Cardiac ICU experience.

    \n
  • Work in the Cath Lab Holding unit, a pre/post recovery area for heart/vascular lab, cath lab, and structural heart procedures
  • \n

  • Unit has 21 beds in short stay with a 4:1 patient ratio
  • \n

  • High STEMI volume with patients held in cardiac short stay until a bed becomes available
  • \n

  • Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday only
  • \n

  • Shift options include 6:00-18:30, 6:00-14:30, or a combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts based on traveler preference
  • \n

  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • \n

Requirements\n

    \n
  • Active MA RN license required
  • \n

  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • \n

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, 2-3 years preferred
  • \n

  • Pre/post procedural experience preferred
  • \n

  • Cardiac ICU experience preferred
  • \n

  • Skills should include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, arterial line management, and central/peripheral line care
  • \n

  • Experience with post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, sheath removal, and TR band care preferred
  • \n

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Additional Information\n

    \n
  • Provide pre/post procedural nursing care for cardiac and vascular patients undergoing cath lab, heart/vascular, and structural heart procedures
  • \n

  • Monitor and manage cardiac drips and vasoactive drips (titration not required)
  • \n

  • Perform sheath removal and TR band management for post-cardiac catheterization patients
  • \n

  • Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
  • \n

  • Work in a union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days as scheduled
  • \n

  • Required to complete a Pass/Fail Tele test during orientation with an 80% passing score and only one attempt allowed; failure to pass results in cancellation from the assignment
  • \n

  • Required to complete a Pass/Fail Medication exam during orientation
  • \n

  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • \n

  • Must reside within a 200-mile radius of the facility
  • \n

  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system before reapplying
  • \n

  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
  • \n
