An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with strong Stepdown/IMCU experience to provide critical care to post-operative patients in a fast-paced surgical stepdown unit. This role requires a nurse with at least two years of recent acute care experience, including surgical stepdown expertise and proficiency in interpreting telemetry rhythm strips independently.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to intermediate care patients post-surgery, including cardiothoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant cases.
- Independently monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms to identify patient status changes promptly.
- Administer medications using automated dispensing systems accurately.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Manage a patient load averaging 3 to 5 patients per nurse, adjusting care according to acuity levels.
- Participate in telemetry and critical care medication competency testing on day one to ensure compliance with unit standards.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license.
- Minimum 2+ years of recent acute care experience with surgical stepdown or IMCU focus.
- Successful completion of at least one previous travel assignment.
- Ability to interpret telemetry rhythm strips and pass tele and critical care medication tests on orientation day.
- Experience working in tertiary care facilities preferred.
Schedule:
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week, working every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH)
