Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse – Evening & Night Shifts
Location: Falmouth, MA
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Evening & Night | 8 Hours | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM / 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 40 Hours/Week
Pay: $1,200 - $2,000/Week
Schedule: Monday – Friday | Every Other Weekend & Holiday

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting, including medication administration, treatments, monitoring, documentation, and supervision of nursing assistants.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved LPN program or accredited nursing program.

• Current, active, unencumbered Massachusetts LPN license.

• Current BLS / CPR and AED certification.

• Strong knowledge of professional nursing practices and long-term care procedures.

• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.

• Ability to recognize and respond to changes in resident condition.

• Strong documentation and organizational skills.

• Ability to supervise nursing assistants and work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and staff.

• Ability to maintain resident confidentiality and protect PHI.

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and meet position-related physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care according to established nursing standards and procedures.

• Supervise and direct nursing assistants during assigned shifts.

• Review resident charts, treatment orders, medication orders, dietary requirements, and care plans.

• Complete documentation for resident admissions, transfers, discharges, treatments, and care provided.

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.

• Perform catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, dressing changes, colostomy care, and other nursing treatments.

• Collect urine, blood, sputum, and other clinical specimens and perform routine laboratory testing as required.

• Monitor and record temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and other vital signs.

• Communicate changes in resident condition to physicians and nursing leadership.

• Participate in physician rounds and resident care planning as required.

• Provide health education and instructions to residents and family members.

• Maintain adequate medication, equipment, and nursing supplies.

• Orient new residents and family members to the facility.

• Participate in facility inspections and surveys as required.

• Maintain accurate and complete resident records and clinical documentation.

• Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, safety, and quality standards.

• Perform other nursing duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous long-term care, skilled nursing, or nursing home experience.

• Experience supervising nursing assistants or nursing support personnel.

• Experience with medication administration, catheterization, tube feeding, suctioning, wound care, colostomy care, and specimen collection.

• Experience working with elderly or medically complex residents.

• Knowledge of long-term care documentation, care planning, and regulatory requirements.
