Pediatric Pulmonologist Dartmouth Health Children's and Geisel School of Medicine with Elliot Hospit
Job Description
Job Description
Our Pediatric Department at the organization is looking for a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Pulmonologist to provide care for children and families in southern New Hampshire, in partnership with a local hospital in Manchester.
We offer a comprehensive healthcare system that includes primary, specialty, and advanced tertiary pediatric services. This encompasses ten pediatric primary care facilities throughout the region, as well as inpatient services featuring a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at our main facility. Additionally, we operate a robust ambulatory specialty center at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester, the largest city in the state, collaborating with a 296-bed acute care hospital that includes a Level III NICU, a pediatric inpatient unit, and a 24/7 pediatric emergency department.
The Pediatric Pulmonology Section is the sole provider of a comprehensive lung health program for children in New Hampshire, catering to patients with asthma and various other conditions. This section also oversees the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-accredited NH CF Center, which serves around 100 pediatric and adolescent patients. The selected candidate will primarily work in Manchester, offering consultations at the local hospital and remotely to our main facility, while focusing on outpatient care.
Teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students are part of the role, thus eligibility for a faculty appointment at the Geisel School of Medicine is necessary, with rank based on experience and academic credentials. Academic prospects across our campuses include exceptional traditional biomedical research, global health projects, and esteemed leadership in quality improvement, outcomes, and healthcare delivery sciences at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. The Geisel School also features a highly active Lung Biology Group with a strong history of NIH funding and collaboration with Pediatric Pulmonology.
Our pediatric services are part of an integrated academic healthcare system serving northern New England, anchored by a leading medical center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. This center has been recognized as the Best Hospital in New Hampshire by US News & World Report and hosts over 50 graduate medical education programs, the state's only Level 1 Trauma Center, an air ambulance service, and a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. We are dedicated to combating racism and other forms of oppression that hinder children and adolescents from achieving their fullest potential.
Faculty members at our organization have the unique chance to blend high-level academic medicine with a peaceful and fulfilling living environment. Greater Manchester consistently ranks among the top small cities in the U.S. for quality of life. With easy access to cities like Boston, New York, and Montreal, as well as coastal and ski destinations, it is an excellent place for both professional and personal growth.
