Summary
New Opening:
Brattleboro Centre for Children is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, experienced teacher with a background in early childhood development who can plan and work with a team of teachers to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for 3 to 5 year olds. Required qualifications include a minimum of Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Licensure with ECE endorsement preferred. CDA in preschool is acceptable. Duties
Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing curriculum in a developmentally appropriate manner for a 3 to 5 year old classroom. Experience in Teaching Strategies Gold expected. Responsible for classroom environment, child assessments, teacher conferences, supervision of assistant teacher/s and assuring coverage in accordance with regulations.
Requirements
Associate Degree in Early childhood (or better) Level III certificate on the Vermont Career Ladder or a CDA in preschool, at least 2 years experience leading groups of young children. Certifiable in 1st aid/CPR. Will maintain professional demeanor with staff and families, public and children. will conduct assessments as required by program philosophy. Team player, collaborative leader, sense of humor, and patience. Minimum 30 hours per year professional development (or one college course of 3 credits annually)
Nice To Haves
Licensed in State of Vermont with Early Childhood Endorsement, experience with children with special needs.
