Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

You will develop accurate pre-construction estimates for new builds, additions, and remodels while helping us evolve into a fully integrated, tech-forward estimating department. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, trade partners, and our leadership team to implement efficient workflows, improve data quality, and use technology to enhance speed and precision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend pre-construction site meetings to capture project details.
Perform material and quantity takeoffs using digital tools and AI-assisted workflows.
Develop detailed Scopes of Work based on plans, field measurements, and internal team collaboration.
Create and distribute bid packages to trade partners; coordinate follow-up meetings or on-site trade days.
Receive, review, and analyze subcontractor proposals with a critical and tech-assisted eye for scope alignment.
Build customer-ready estimates and collaborate with the Project Coordinator to ensure specifications are clear, comprehensive, and accurate.
Help develop a preliminary construction schedule while working with trade partners.
Provide pricing for change orders during construction.
Partner with the Owner and General Manager to build a standardized, technology-enhanced estimating system, incorporating automation and AI tools.
Assist in sourcing and onboarding new subcontractors and suppliers.
Champion the company’s shift toward digital estimating excellence, AI-assisted workflows, and data-driven decision making.

KEY SKILLS & TRAITS

Highly analytical, with strong digital literacy
Ability to read and interpret construction plans with precision
In-depth knowledge of materials, labor, and residential construction practices
Strong Excel skills and enthusiasm for learning new AI and construction technologies
Self-motivated and organized, with excellent prioritization skills
Exceptional communication and customer-facing abilities
Passion for continuous improvement and modernizing processes
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a tech-forward environment

QUALIFICATIONS

Proven construction estimating experience (or Project Manager / Construction Manager / Engineer background)
Familiarity with construction or project management software
Experience with (or willingness to learn) AI-enabled estimating tools and digital takeoff platforms
Strong time-management and negotiation skills
Knowledge of construction procedures, safety standards, and quality practices
