Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

As a Pharmacy Floor Technician, you will be responsible for picking, labeling, scanning, and preparing finished prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure.
  • Prepack frequently ordered medications, label and store as needed during low volume times.
  • Manually package materials and products.
  • Pull and pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas.
  • Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks.
  • Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly.
  • Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish all necessary stock supplies.
  • Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Be prepared to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.
  • Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work at a moderate speed.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Maintain a clear and active MA Pharmacy Technician License issued by the MA Board of Pharmacy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
  • Prior authorization knowledge is beneficial.
  • Pharmacy technician certification is an advantage.
  • Experience in inventory management and labeling.

Work Environment

The work schedule is from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM with rotating weekends. The role may require sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking intermittently throughout the day. You may sit or stand for seven to ten hours per day and occasionally lift up to twenty-five pounds. Finger dexterity is needed to operate office equipment, and visual acuity is required to see and read fine prints. The ability to adjust focus and hear normal voice sounds is essential. The work environment is typical of what an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role.

This is a Contract position based out of Marlborough, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
