Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a 13-week evening shift contract requiring ARDMS (AB or OB) and RVT credentials, along with vascular and Epic experience.

  • General ultrasound department in a 100-bed community hospital and teaching facility
  • \n

  • Scope includes general abdominal/OB ultrasound as well as vascular studies
  • \n

  • Equipment includes 2x GE Logiq E10 and 2x Samsung WS80A ultrasound units
  • \n

  • Epic is the EMR system used at this facility
  • \n

  • 8-hour evening shifts, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, 40 hrs/week
  • \n

  • Weekend on-call rotation only: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, every 4th–5th weekend
  • \n

  • Holiday on-call coverage required (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
  • \n

  • Floating within radiology is required (e.g., fluoroscopy, OR, off-site locations)
  • \n

  • Schedule is posted, not self-scheduled; no block scheduling
  • \n

Requirements\n

    \n
  • Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound experience required
  • \n

  • ARDMS certification (AB or OB specialty) required
  • \n

  • RVT credential required
  • \n

  • Vascular ultrasound experience required
  • \n

  • Epic experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
  • \n

  • Must be flexible with scheduling
  • \n

  • Candidates from New York must include proof of a pending NY license for consideration
  • \n

  • License required if applicable
  • \n

  • At least two professional references from a nurse manager and/or supervisor are required (one within the past 6 months, one within the past year of employment)
  • \n

  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • \n

Additional Information\n

  • Perform routine general ultrasound exams including abdominal, OB, and vascular studies in a community-based hospital setting
  • \n

  • Works alongside a department of 40+ staff; not expected to work alone on this shift
  • \n

  • A chaperon is provided for male technicians performing OB transvaginal exams
  • \n

  • Scrubs in any color with closed, non-skid shoes; minimal jewelry; groomed hair/beard; no artificial nails
  • \n

  • Bi-weekly orientations held on Mondays
  • \n

  • All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
  • \n

  • Public transportation is not accessible in this area; a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended
  • \n

  • Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
  • \n

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

  • Pay rates are tiered based on distance from the facility: travel (101+ miles), radius (51–100 miles), and local (50 miles or less)
