Job Summary

Perform the Quality analysis on finished products to insure that they are within specification.

Key Areas of Responsibility

    • Operate, Calibrate and Perform Basic Maintenance on the following Analytical Equipment - GCs, Autotitrator, Spectrophotometer, Refractive Index, PH Meters, Balances, all other Lab Equipment
    • Perform the Routine Analyses including but not limited to: IV, AV, GC, Moisture, Color, FFA, Insolubles, Heat Stability, etc.
    • Use Laboratory Chemicals - Uses, Hazards, Proper Handling, MSDS
    • Knowledgeable of Chemistry of the Fatty Acid Refining Process
    • Maintain Analytical Documentation, SQC, C of A, Logs/Record.
    • Complete Equipment Maintenance Logs and Records
    • Interface with Customer, Supplier and Vendors
    • Safely Operate and Maintain all Refinery and Laboratory Analytical Equipment
    • Maintain a high level of appearance in labs, work areas and the Appearance Program areas of responsibility
    • Ship and take samples as needed (Truck, R.C. SPA samples)
    • Perform other duties as requested or required

Formal Education/Certification Requirement - Essential Functions


  • High School diploma or the equivalent
  • Strong aptitude in computer systems and software
  • Working knowledge of Laboratory Instrumentation
  • 5+ years Analytical Laboratory experience or equivalent
  • Necessary to work in a close knit team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Strong organizational skills

Physical Requirements / Working Environment and Conditions

  • Must work extensively on computer terminals
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Must be able to stand, sit, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, towers and bend for activities.
  • Must be able to lift boxes and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be to handle mathematics, multiple projects, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to frequently climb ladders to access and obtain product samples.


Candidate must be able to work day shift (6 am - 6 pm) or night shift (6 pm - 6 am). Standard schedule is
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (48 hours)
Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (36 hours)
