Special Education Teacher (High School) | Full-Time | 2026-2027 School YearPosition Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher to join our high school team for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs, collaborating with staff and families, and ensuring students achieve academic and post-secondary success.
Position Details
- School Year: August 2026 – June 2027
- Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
- Hours: 7:10 AM – 2:30 PM
- Student Day: 7:15 AM – 2:15 PM
- Weekly Hours: 32 – 37.5 hours
- Grade Levels: 9-12
- Caseload: High School Special Education
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Special Education Case Manager for assigned students.
- Provide specially designed instruction (SDI) aligned with student IEP goals.
- Develop, review, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Conduct academic evaluations and assessments as needed.
- Collect and analyze student data and monitor progress toward goals.
- Maintain ongoing communication with families regarding student progress and support.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and district staff.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements.
- Support student success through individualized academic and behavioral interventions.
Schedule Structure
- A/B Day Schedule
- Four 90-minute instructional blocks per day
- One prep period daily
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with behavior management and intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of transition planning and post-secondary readiness programming.
- Strong organizational, communication, and case management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
