Exciting opportunities are available for skilled Special Education Teachers to provide meaningful instruction and support at both the high school and elementary levels. Three positions are available on-site for the upcoming school year, offering a chance to collaborate with supportive teams and positively impact students’ lives.
Qualifications:
- Valid Professional Vermont Teaching License with one of the following:
- Special Educator Endorsement
- Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement
- Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement
- Experience supporting students with autism, executive function needs, learning disabilities, and severe behaviors
- Demonstrated flexibility and creative problem-solving
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff, including PT/OT professionals
- Up-to-date fingerprinting (recent prints from another school assignment may be accepted)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and services for special education students in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- High school pilot program (two positions): Support students in developing real-world employment and independent life skills; teach students with executive function challenges, autism, or severe behaviors; collaborate with tech center staff as appropriate
- Elementary program (one position): Join a team of four educators providing intervention for students with learning disabilities and high-functioning autism spectrum disorders; work alongside PT/OT staff
- Employ innovative approaches tailored to individual student needs
- Foster a safe, positive classroom climate for all learners
- Track and report student progress, collaborating with families and educators
This is a full-time contract position at 35 hours per week, running from August 19, 2026, through June 14, 2027.
