Job Description

Onward Analytics is an analytical testing laboratory based in Colchester, Vermont that specializes in quality and safety testing of regulated botanicals. At Onward Analytics, the Laboratory Assistant's focus will be supporting laboratory functions by executing sample accessioning, maintaining laboratory sanitation and providing customer service support to clients.

This is an on-site, full-time position (40hours/week).

\n


\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n

Performing “front of house tasks” to support laboratory functions

\n

- Visual inspection of samples, including photos

\n

- Sample accessioning for required testing

\n

- Sample destruction and inventory tracking

\n

- Customer service: sample intake, receiving samples from customers, checking over sample orders, entering samples into Onward Analytics' laboratory inventory management system, and documenting chain of custody paperwork.

\n

- Conversing with customers regarding visual inspection findings, and/or insufficient sample mass/volume. Knowing when to escalate calls to a senior team member

\n

- Maintaining laboratory sanitation standards, including executing daily, weekly and monthly safety and cleaning tasks.

\n

- Documenting work in a timely manner utilizing electronic systems and/or laboratory notebooks using good documentation practices (GDP)

- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

\n

- Must be 21 years of age

\n

- Ability to obtain a Vermont Cannabis Control Board Employee ID Card

\n

- Must not be actively working for any other Vermont Cannabis Licensee holder once employment is accepted

\n

  • Highschool diploma or higher with an interest in working in a laboratory setting
  • \n

\n

- Satisfactory audio-visual acuity

\n

    \n
  • Familiarity with software used in laboratory environments (preferred)
  • \n

\n

- Familiarity with the use of a balance (preferred)

\n

    \n
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to following protocols and safety
  • \n

  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and report findings
  • \n

\n

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; adapting to changing priorities and deadlines

\n

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

\n

- Work is primarily performed in a laboratory setting

\n

- Must be comfortable working with regulated botanical materials and products, as well as laboratory chemicals.

\n

- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs., and work in temperature-controlled environments

\n
