Step into a fulfilling opportunity supporting young learners as a full-time Special Education Teacher! This contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of 3rd and 4th grade students in a supportive environment. You'll work in a "regular" special education classroom setting with no intensive needs, focusing on a manageable caseload of 15-20 students. The assignment runs from ASAP through June 17, 2027, offering a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Vermont teaching certification/licensure in Special Education (required)
  • Demonstrated experience with elementary school-aged children, preferably 3rd or 4th grade
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Flexibility and a can-do attitude in working with diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support in a special education classroom for grades 3-4
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 15-20 students, ensuring IEP goals are met
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to tailor educational plans
  • Create an engaging and respectful classroom climate where students feel valued
  • Track student progress, maintain records, and participate in team meetings
