The Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for repairs and maintenance/upkeep of the Bank’s owned properties. This position is tasked with performing minor renovation work and other facilities related duties. The incumbent uses small tools, resolves problems efficiently, handles complaints, and works well with others and also travels to various Bank locations to resolve building-related issues and make routine repairs, as well as move supplies, equipment, and occasionally amounts of coin and/or currency between branches. Operates postal meter, prepares outgoing mail, drop off and pick up mail from Post Office. Maintains the supply room and the record retention areas. Works with minimum supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Responsible for the bank Records and Retention room including retrieval of bank loans. Also working with the destruction company to confidentially destroy banking information/records which complies with all banking laws.

Monitor fixtures and fittings of assigned Bank locations and ensure that all issues are identified and addressed.

Respond to facility inquiries and complaints, assess problems and take the necessary corrective action.

Conduct site and safety inspections and follow protocol for effective, building-specific maintenance and safety procedures

Perform routine repairs and minor renovations.

Ensure that both interior and exterior common areas are clean and safe for Bank customers and employees.

Maintain and perform routine inspections, filter changes and compliance related items
-
Identify and advise superiors of all safety hazards.

Perform minor plumbing repairs (faucets, toilets, drains) and maintenance.

Perform minor electrical fixes (wiring, fixtures, light bulbs, switches) and maintenance.
-
Perform carpentry repairs (adjust hardware, touch-up wall/paint, replace ceiling tile) and maintenance.

Coordinate activities between contractors and locations (may require overtime).

Open and clear the Railroad St - St Johnsbury location as needed
-
Processes outgoing mail through the mail machine and deploy to Post Office, Fed Ex or UPS daily.

Pick up and sort any incoming mail and distribute to the appropriate departments by 10 AM daily.

Move supplies, work, other items as needed between branches

Shovel snow and maintain any customer and employee access areas at all times.

Perform physical inventory of supplies and restocks supplies as necessary.

Assists in moving office furniture, fixtures and equipment within and between sites to support staffing changes, relocations, remodels and expansion.

Drives the company vehicle to perform duties

Alerts management of any maintenance needed for the company vehicle.

Participate in special projects and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Provide back up to Facilities Manager when necessary

Ability to use small hand and power tools.

Proficient in Google Suite or similar platforms (Google Doc, Google Sheets, ect.)

Must have knowledge and prior work experience with HVAC, commercial heating and cooling systems.

Must have and maintain a valid drivers license with a clean driving record

Must have reliable transportation to and from work

Must be able to resolve problems in a quick and efficient manner, adhering to prescribed guidelines.

Must have strong organization and time management skills.

Available for emergency call-in on non-regular working hours.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
-
High School diploma or GED required.
-
5+ years of relevant experience required.
INTERPERSONAL/BEHAVORIAL/COMMUNICATION:
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with others. Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
MATHEMATICAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills required. A valid VT driver’s license is required. Familiarity and use of Google Suite.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in unique situations. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to assess a situation and make an informed decision based upon sound reasoning in the area of facilities management.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to make precise arm-hand positioning movements and maintain static arm-hand positions. Position requires fine motor skills and repetitive motion. Make skillful, controlled manipulations of small objects. Physical agility to bend, stoop, walk, reach overhead, push/pull, squat, twist, and turn. Physical ability to remain on your feet for extended periods throughout a workweek. Regular crouching to retrieve items from the floor or lower shelves. Regular reaching to retrieve items from storage shelves and file cabinets up to 8’ high. The employee must frequently lift and/or move heavy and/or bulky objects weighing more than 50 lbs. Must be physically capable of performing the above tasks.
