Engelberth Construction is seeking a Civil Estimator who provides expertise and support to the preconstruction and operations teams related to civil and site infrastructure work.

Position Overview

The Civil Estimator plays a critical role in project success by developing accurate, strategic cost estimates and supporting civil and site-related planning, risk management, and execution across our commercial construction portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop estimates at all phases of design

• Coordinate subcontractor bidding for CM and hard bid projects

• Maintain the civil estimating database

• Provide internal coordination with team members related to civil and site work (cost, scheduling, design issues, bidding strategies, and risk management efforts)

• Support operations teams with site-related issues and business development efforts, including RFP responses

• Perform civil and site-related material takeoffs

• Coordinate with equipment and material vendors for current pricing

• Develop cost estimates using Timberline/Sage estimating software

• Understand subcontractor market conditions and develop subcontractor bid lists

• Develop subcontractor bid packages defining specific trade scopes

• Review subcontractor bids and proposals for conformance to requested information

• Discuss estimates and subcontractor bidding results with Owners and Design Team members

• Provide constructability reviews and quality control feedback to designers

• Develop cost reduction strategies and evaluate value engineering suggestions for cost and schedule impact

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

• 5+ years of design experience or equivalent years of civil and site-related subcontractor estimating experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

• Proficiency in, or willingness to learn, digital take-off and estimating software

• Commercial construction experience preferred

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams

• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
