Solara Hospice LLC is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Volunteer to join our caring team in Waltham, MA. Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship and emotional support to hospice patients and their families
- Assist with non-medical tasks such as reading, conversation, and light errands
- Offer respite support to family caregivers, allowing them time to rest and recharge
- Participate in volunteer orientation and ongoing hospice care training
- Document and communicate patient interactions and observations to the care team
- Support bereavement outreach and memorial activities as needed
- Assist with administrative or community outreach tasks as directed
Requirements:
- Genuine compassion and empathy for patients facing end-of-life care
- Strong interpersonal and active listening skills
- Ability to maintain composure and sensitivity in emotionally challenging situations
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to scheduled volunteer hours
- Completion of required hospice volunteer training program
- Background check clearance as required by hospice regulations
- Prior experience in healthcare, caregiving, or volunteer work is a plus
