Step into a rewarding position supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-27 academic year. This full-time contract role offers meaningful opportunities to foster growth and make a lasting difference for learners in grades 9-12.
You’ll engage with students and staff Monday through Friday within a supportive educational environment, working a schedule from 7:10 AM to 2:30 PM. The assignment follows an A/B day routine, featuring four 90-minute blocks a day for instruction, and a daily prep period to help you plan and recharge.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification or eligibility
- Experience working with high school students (grades 9-12)
- Solid knowledge of IEP development and case management
- Skill in providing specially designed instruction across diverse learning needs
- Effective communication with families and a collaborative spirit
- Ability to collect data, monitor progress, and complete academic evaluations
- Preferred: Background in behavior management and transition planning
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee general special education caseload
- Develop, implement, and manage IEPs for high school students
- Deliver targeted instruction tailored to each student’s goals and needs
- Track student progress, compile reports, and maintain accurate documentation
- Maintain strong partnerships with families, faculty, and support staff
- Collaborate on transition planning and behavioral strategies as needed
