An opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist specializing in school-based services in Northampton, MA. This contract position focuses on supporting students’ developmental and functional goals within a school setting, providing vital therapeutic interventions to enhance their educational experience.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess students’ needs related to occupational therapy in educational environments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students’ educational goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive support strategies
- Document progress and maintain compliance with school and state regulations
- Utilize therapeutic techniques to improve students’ fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license to practice in Massachusetts
- Prior experience delivering OT services in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork with educators and families
- Ability to develop individualized plans that support diverse student needs
- Knowledge of educational and therapeutic assessment tools
