Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Physical Therapist opportunity is available in a K-12 school setting located in Amherst, MA. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY) and offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, with hours ranging from 7:45 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., totaling 30 to 35 hours per week.
In this role, you will provide skilled physical therapy services to a caseload of 7-8 students, supporting their mobility, strength, and functional needs to promote optimal participation in school activities. Collaboration with educators, parents, and other therapy team members will be essential to develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students educational goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and interventions tailored to student needs.
- Monitor and document student progress regularly.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, families, and other professionals to support student success.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning and program development.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and school policies.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Degree and licensure in Physical Therapy.
- Prior experience working with children in a school environment preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a moderate caseload efficiently.
- Knowledge of educational goals and special education processes.
