American Traveler is hiring a Charge RN for a Critical Access Hospital Emergency Department on night shift, requiring prior charge and ER experience plus willingness to float to Med/Surg and Stepdown units.

- Emergency Department at a Critical Access Hospital with modern, state-of-the-art equipment
- Role is approximately 60% ED and 40% critical access charge duties, serving as backup to Med/Surg and ED
- Requires floating to Med/Surg and Stepdown units, including accepting Stepdown patients and assisting with Med/Surg patients
- TeleEmergency, Telepsych, and Teleneonatal services available via DHMC
- Works closely with area ambulance services and helicopter trauma transport (DHART and LifeFlight of Maine)
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend (EOW) requirement
- No on-call requirements

Requirements\n

- Active NH or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (all AHA where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of current Emergency Room experience required
- Previous Charge RN experience required
- Previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital highly preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Emergency Room skills checklist required for consideration
- One supervisory signed reference from the past year of employment required
- License verification required

- Support staff includes Emergency Department technicians and Certified Emergency Registered Nurses
- ED providers hold Board Certifications
- Must be willing to take Stepdown patients and assist with Med/Surg patient care as part of charge responsibilities
- Local candidates not accepted; permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility
- Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested
