Job DescriptionFixture Design EngineerRaynham, MARemote work: No Mandatory skills: UG-NX, Design and create fabrication drawings for custom machine tooling, fixtures, and gages Job details: Design and create fabrication drawings for custom machine tooling, fixtures, and gages. Provide engineering and technical support for production issues and equipment. Duties & Responsibilities-
- Collaboration with internal customers to accept and initiate new tooling requests.
- Collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers & Quality Engineers to evaluate and gain consensus on proper product dimensioning schemes that convey design intent, ensure functionality, aid in ease of manufacturing and ensure ability to use hard gages.
- A highly developed understanding of both design and fabrication skills, to effectively engineer new tools, fixtures, gages, and equipment.
- Effective use of CAD to design tools (like NX), fixtures, and gages.
- Investigation of pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and cost.
- Creation of layouts of complex assemblies and details of parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures.
- Identification and specification of appropriate materials for use on tools, fixtures, gages, and equipment
