Step into a rewarding opportunity providing essential support as a full-time Special Education Teacher for 3rd and 4th grade students. This contract position begins as soon as possible and runs through June 17, 2027. You’ll guide a caseload of approximately 15-20 students in a “regular” special education classroom environment with no intensive needs. Your weekdays will follow a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active Vermont Special Education Teacher certification or license
- Experience with elementary school–age children, preferably grades 3–4
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Passion for fostering a nurturing, inclusive learning environment
- Organization and adaptability for managing caseload documentation and IEPs
- Clear communication and collaboration with teaching staff and families
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement differentiated instructional plans for students on your caseload
- Monitor academic and behavioral progress, ensuring compliance with IEPs and goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, school specialists, and parents to support students’ learning success
- Maintain thorough documentation and timely reporting on student progress and meetings
- Create a positive, structured classroom that encourages every child to reach their full potential
- Participate in professional development and school staff meetings
