Description

Children’s Charter Trauma Clinic in Waltham, MA, a division of The Key Program, Inc., is seeking a full-time, salaried, child/adolescent focused outpatient clinician to provide individual and group therapy to clients exposed to domestic violence. Children’s Charter has been committed for 40 years to breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma in the lives of children, adolescents, adults, and families with limited resources. A diverse group of clinicians, we promote interpersonal safety and healing for survivors of physical and sexual abuse, neglect, domestic violence, and traumatic loss by providing individual, family, and group therapy. We are dedicated to serving BIPOC and other marginalized communities and work to promote equity and address disparities in the field.

Responsibilities

The position is grant funded through the Department of Public Health (DPH). Responsibilities include approximately 20 weekly clinical hours with children, adolescents, and adults who have been exposed to/are survivors of domestic violence. Services include individual therapy and the coordination of services for clients including collaboration with collaterals, advocates, and schools, and assisting clients and their families in accessing additional services in the community. Therapy is provided primarily in-person with a virtual option as needed. Two weekly child witness groups are co-lead in conjunction with REACH Beyond Domestic Violence, a Waltham based agency and take place on site at REACH’s office. The job also requires the collection and entry of quarterly statistics for DPH and attendance at DPH related meetings on a monthly basis. Children’s Charter has made it a priority to provide weekly support and supervision that includes group supervision, two hours of individual supervision, and clinical team meetings. Additionally, we have a commitment to training which has included EMDR, neurofeedback training, and a weekly DEI discussion group. Clinic hours are primarily afternoon and evening, and all clinicians are required to be at the clinic one evening until 8 pm.

Total Compensation

Starting salary range: $61,440 – S64,440

A $3,000 hiring bonus is offered in two installments at the 3rd and 6th month of employment.

Insurance: Generous company contribution of over 90% of medical and over 70% for dental premiums. Professional Development: Up to $4,000 per year for tuition assistance, professional certification or courses taken for CEUs. Attendance at clinical seminars or conferences. Training and practice in many evidence-based and innovative treatment methods including neurofeedback and collaboration with colleagues throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Level Social Worker or Mental Health Clinician, or Doctoral Level Psychologist
  • Trained in Domestic Violence and Safety Planning
  • Experienced in Working Therapeutically with Children and Adolescents
  • Creative in Developing and Implementing Group Activities
  • Culturally Aware and Able to Provide Culturally Competent Interventions
  • Able to Collaborate Effectively with Co-workers, Clients, and Outside Agencies
  • Organized and Familiar with Clinical Documentation/Paperwork
  • Knowledgeable in Case Management to Support Clients Who Present with Emergent Needs
  • Able To Commute to REACH’s Office
  • Able to work afternoons and evenings including one evening until 8 pm
