Job DescriptionJob Title: Quality Assurance Location: South Deerfield, MAShift: 2nd | 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM Pay: $23.50/hrSUMMARY: Perform first article, in-process, and final product inspections, including incoming materials, returned items, and reworked goods for a variety of products. Ensure customer quality standards are met and proper documentation is completed.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work from electronic or paper customer drawings and specifications; established inspection methods, techniques, and procedures; and written and verbal instructions.
  • Perform dimensional, visual, and other procedural checks and tests.
  • Inspect finished products, subassemblies, and component parts of various sizes, shapes, weights, and materials.
  • Conduct inspections across multiple production areas, including receiving, quality control, fabrication, high heat, roto cast, and injection molding.
  • Perform first piece, in-process, and random sampling inspections as required.
  • Verify components and final products for conformity to commercial and/or military specifications, including drawings, tolerances, dimensions, hole locations, functionality, foreign materials, and other characteristics.
  • Calibrate testing devices.
  • Notify supervisors or appropriate personnel of inspection failures or tolerance/specification issues.
  • Follow established company and departmental policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unsafe or questionable conditions.
  • Maintain daily production and inspection records as required.
  • Support quality objectives and contribute to the Quality Management System as assigned.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and participate in safety programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department management.

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

  • 1–3 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of mechanical inspection/calibration experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with plastics processing and product assembly is a plus.
  • Ability to learn and use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, verniers, pin gauges, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors, dial indicators, optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately read, record, and interpret measurements and part specifications.
  • Basic blueprint reading skills and ability to relate drawings to physical parts.
  • Basic math and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including knowledge of MS Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze root causes of failures.
  • Ability to operate industrial equipment such as forklifts and man lifts (or willingness to obtain certification); must be comfortable working at heights.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills with employees, vendors, and contractors at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet deadlines set by the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
