$60-$67 per hour

SCHEDULE
Hybrid. 2 days remote, 3 days in office
Monday-Friday, 40 hr. work week

POSITION OVERVIEW – Contracts Manager II - O&M Planning

The Contract Manager II is responsible for managing mid-complexity contract needs for O&M Wind, Solar, Battery Storage, Cross technology, OMI, and HSEQ departments. This role oversees the full lifecycle of contracts—from the creation and submission of contract packages or change orders to final contract closure.

The Contract Manager II ensures a smooth handover of contract key terms to the Contract Supervisor and collaborates closely with Business Lines to develop accurate contract packages. The role also works with Procurement to meet all pre-tender requirements.

In addition to managing contract lifecycles, this role leads cross-functional initiatives to improve contract performance and compliance. The Contract Manager II also contributes to the development of contract strategies and supports junior staff through mentorship and knowledge sharing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mentors junior contract staff and shares best practices across teams.
  • Leads cross-functional coordination with Legal, Procurement, Risk, and Business Lines to ensure contract alignment and execution.Drives process optimization initiatives and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in contract management workflows.
  • Takes initiative in leading contract-related initiatives and contributes to strategic discussions on supplier performance and contract frameworks.
  • Collaborates with Business Lines, AFC, and Global Units to monitor the liquidated damages process, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
  • Working closely with Risk control, Procurement, and Legal department to review assigned contracts for required financial guarantees, determine applicable requirements and amounts, coordinate requests with supplier, and ensure accurate uploading and tracking in GuaPo or Company IT tool
  • Ensure packages submitted to Procurement for new mid-complexity contracts or change orders are complete, submitted in time, and meet all pre-tender requirements, including a detailed Purchase Request in SAP
  • Overseeing the overall contract request process, including reviewing needs on the Smart Planning Tool, developing the required Annexes, Direct Assignment justification, working with stakeholders to prepare a detailed Scope of Work, schedule of values, and suggested vendor list
  • Providing a comprehensive handover of all aspects of the contract to the Contract Supervisor, including contract deliverables, Schedule of Values, Acceptance Criteria, Warranty conditions, etc.
  • Supporting the Manager in supplier performance monitoring and consequence management
  • Monitoring and management activities of active contracts throughout their duration, including but not limited to ensuring adequate value, coverage, and contract closure, as well as ensuring adherence to contractual terms and conditions
  • Responsible for reporting on the status of the contract packages under their assignment and when they are expected to be completed, as well as weekly follow-up with the procurement team to ensure process milestones are met
  • Maintaining accurate record keeping of contract request documentation following company policies and procedures.
  • Operate effectively and independently in SAP, including creation of PR and POs, as needed, ensuring accuracy, compliance with internal procedures, and timely support to business stakeholders

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-6 years of experience in contract management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Ability to manage moderately complex situations independently, escalating only when necessary
• Able to interpret legal documents and agreements
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and detail-oriented skills to ensure accuracy and quality
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Highly adaptable and capable of managing deadlines, ambiguity, and change.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in multicultural, cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in SAP MM–PUR module, particularly in the creation of Purchase Requests (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO).
• Preferred experience in the creation of PR in SAP
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Fluency in English is required. Italian is considered a plus
• 5% travel required (domestic and international)
