Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education (or related field)
- State-issued Special Education teaching license or eligibility to obtain
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities, preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Collaborative approach with staff, students, and families
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student goals
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions to promote student progress
- Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, and social-emotional skills
- Assess student performance and maintain detailed, confidential records of progress
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and support personnel to ensure inclusive practices
- Communicate regularly with families to foster positive, ongoing partnerships
- Contribute to IEP meetings, professional development, and team planning sessions
