Casey Lundregan Burns, P.C., a steadily expanding law firm in downtown Salem, MA, is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to provide essential administrative support in our Probate and Real Estate Department.
\n
\n
The ideal candidate has familiarity with estate administration, probate court proceedings, and residential/commercial real estate transactions. This position plays a critical role in maintaining daily workflow by coordinating communication, assisting with time-sensitive court and closing deadlines, supporting attorneys and clients, and ensuring confidential and efficient handling and storage of documents.

We are seeking a proactive self-starter who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys workplace collaboration, and is comfortable navigating competing priorities. Professionalism, strict confidentiality, flexibility, exceptional time management, and steady reliability are critical to success in this position.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (with a one-hour lunch).
\n
Location: Downtown Salem, MA. This is an in-office position without hybrid potential.

Key Responsibilities

\n
- \n
- Assist attorneys with preparing, organizing, and filing documents for estate administration and probate matters (e.g., Petitions for Probate, Inventories, Accounts, and Notices)
- Process, track, and organize court notices and deadlines
- Prepare, proofread, and format documents and correspondence
- Create and maintain files in Clio, Monday.com, OneDrive, and other programs as relevant
- Provide high-level ad hoc administrative support to attorneys
- Support special projects
- Serve as backup for incoming client calls
- Support general administrative office duties

Qualifications & Skills
\n
\n
- \n
- Prior administrative experience in a law firm, with direct exposure to probate/estate administration or real estate law, is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while navigating competing deadlines
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and willingness to assist team members
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
