This position is specifically for high school students that have completed the Dental Assistant training program, but are entering their senior year. Using their DA training they will be responsible for assisting the Dentist in the direct provision of dental care and services to patients of CHCB. Additionally, they will be responsible for administrative duties, sterilization, preparation and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

A) Education & Experience:

Working toward completion of High School Diploma or GED

Completion of accredited dental radiology course

Completion of American Dental Association accredited dental assisting training program.

B) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of basic medical and dental emergencies

Knowledge of dental assistant techniques

Knowledge of dental materials, their composition and uses

Willingness and ability to travel to other CHCB sites as necessary

C) Licensure, Certification or Other Requirements:

Vermont State Dental Assistant Registration

CPR Certificate

Dental Radiology Certification

Ability to maintain licensure/registration
