Boston Center for Memory is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Technician that could assist the Research Pharmacist and other research staff in performing pharmacy procedures related to Investigational Products. Candidate will gain hands-on experience and insights about how clinical trials are being conducted at the clinical site, and exposure to various investigational therapies pertaining to Alzheimer’s Disease and other related dementias.
Responsibilities
- Assist Research Pharmacist in the preparation, handling and accountability of Investigational Products (IPs) for multiple clinical trials, in accordance with Good Clinical Practices (ICH GCP guideline), study protocol requirements, and applicable local law/regulations.
- Preparation procedures may include reconstitution and/or dilution of sponsor-provided IPs to final products ready for IV infusion or injection, using aseptic techniques.

Accountability includes record-keeping and detailed documentation of receipt, dispensation and disposal/return of IPs, as well as maintenance of pharmacy regulatory files.

Coordinate with other research staff to ensure on-time delivery/handling of prepared IPs

Perform weekly inventory of pharmacy stock to ensure sufficient stock for IP preparation.

Prepare for regular pharmacy monitoring/auditing visits conducted by sponsors or other parties, and assist the Pharmacy Research Manager during the visits

Other responsibilities will be assigned dependent upon the needs of the clinic and the research program

Training and supervision will be provided

The candidate will also get to learn and experience clinical trial management through assisting other senior research staff in conducting the trials
Basic Requirements

Experience with clinical laboratory environment and/or non-sterile compounding with aseptic techniques (either through school or previous jobs)

Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern License (active and in good-standing)

Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task while ensuring error-free delivery of work.

Must have transportation and valid driver license as there is minimal access to public transportation to/from our clinic

Minimum 1 year commitment
Preferred Skills

Clinical research experience: familiar with study protocols, GCPs, handling and accountability of IPs

Previous internship/rotation or experience with non-sterile compounding
